Korea University International Summer Campus

Visa & Insurance

only for students taking in-person class

VISA

Students are fully responsible for obtaining the appropriate visa required to participate in the KU International Summer Campus.

The KU ISC office does not provide individual visa advice. However, upon request, we can provide supporting documents for the visa application.

Please note that students from countries eligible for K-ETA do not need to obtain a visa.

Please check the K-ETA website for eligibility and detailed information.

Visa-related documents will only be issued to applicants who have completed the application fee payment, tuition payment, and submitted all required documents.

Please note that these documents are provided only to currently enrolled students at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Unfortunately, pre-college students and those who have already graduated are not eligible to receive visa documents.

D-2-8 Visa Application Procedure

If you require a Certificate of Admission (CoA), please email isc@korea.ac.kr. We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to apply.

The CoA is mandatory for D-2-8 visa applications. Please note that obtaining the CoA involves multiple steps.

You must prepare specific documents, complete the necessary procedures, and send the physical documents to the KU ISC Office by post.

The required documents are as follows:

  1.    ① Certificate of the Highest Degree (Level of Education) ★ Apostille / Legalization required

  2.    ② Certificate of Enrollment from Home Institution ★ Apostille / Legalization required

  3.    ③ Certificate of Insurance

  4.    ④ Proof of Balance (bank statement)

  5.    ⑤ A copy of your passport

On average, it takes approximately 2–3 weeks to issue the CoA after your documents are received by post.

Once the process is complete, KU ISC will also provide other supporting documents needed for your D-2-8 visa application.

Due to time constraints, CoA requests will only be accepted until May 16.

C-3-1 Visa Application Procedure

The C-3-1 visa can be issued to students who meet both of the following conditions:

① Students who have completed payment of the application fee, tuition, and on-campus housing fee.

② Students who are not participating in the program for the purpose of credit transfer.

※ Please note that we do not provide a Letter of Guarantee(신원보증서) as part of the visa application documents.

Insurance

  • Student MUST purchase their insurance that covers your stay in Korea and submit insurance document to ISC Office via email.
  • Purchasing insurance is not necessary for Korean citizens covered by national health insurance.
  • If your home school offers free insurance for study abroad, you can be exempted from submitting insurance documents. In that case, proof of the school-provided insurance is required (such as a screenshot, email capture with the responsible person, etc.).
